He resided in Thailand for almost nine years and participated in various fasting retreats in Samui and Chiang Mai. However, he was surprised to find that there were no providers of detox or fasting retreats in Vietnam. Many individuals, including popular figures such as film stars and singers residing in Vietnam, had to travel to Thailand, Bali, or even as far as Australia or the US for the regenerative benefits of detox retreats.
Dieter, who is a medically certified Bujchinger fasting retreat leader and trained massage therapist, saw an opportunity to offer detox retreats in Vietnam. During a trip to a famous tourist site in Da Nang, he met Truong Tan Hoan, who encouraged him to try his idea. Together, they founded Vietnam Detox and searched for suitable venues with cool and fresh air.
Our first retreat venue was Dalat Edensee Resort and Spa. With its peaceful setting on the shores of Thuyen Lam lake and spacious facilities, the retreat guests felt very comfortable in this pristine environment. The hotel management was very supportive in finding knowledgeable hiking guides, yoga teachers, organic farms, and chefs to make our first retreats successful.
After running a successful trial retreat in September 2016, we started offering 4, 7 and 9-day detox retreats in Dalat. In 2019, we added a new location, the Hot Springs at Alba Wellness Valley in Hue, where we ran our now-famous 5-Rejuvenating Hot Spring Detox for over four years.
In 2023, we added two locations in the north, Legacy Yen Tu M Gallery and Flamingo Dai Lai. In 2024, two more locations in Central Vietnam will offer a diverse portfolio of fasting retreats and locations to our wellness-conscious guests.

All film stars, singers, celebrities and normal people living in Vietnam were going to Thailand, Bali or as far as Australia or the US to enjoy the rejuvenating benefits of detox retreats.
Being a medically certified fasting retreat leader in Germany and trained massage therapist, I decided to offer detox retreat myself and started to look for a suitable venue with cool and fresh air.
